Description
The d3min_chair design is an example of sustainable design where minimalism comes together with upcycling. The frame, obtained from the second cycle, was modified to improve ergonomics and adaptation to new functional assumptions. Removing unnecessary elements allowed for more harmonious proportions, while maintaining the expressive, raw character of the object. The seat, backrest and armrests are made exclusively of recovered textiles. The structure of the material has been preserved almost unchanged, with the original stitching which has become an integral design element. The modular structure of the seat, based on two longitudinal strips of material with buttons and holes, allows easy disassembly and maintenance. Deliberately highlighting traces of use, abrasions and construction elements, such as raw stitching or the patinated surface of the steel frame, is a conscious aesthetic treatment. D3min_chair is a reduction manifesto and conscious use of raw materials, redefining the concept of value in design and questioning the traditional approach to new materials.
